About Us

SIO-GHANA

we are a non profit NGO dedicated to serving the less previlaged in society especially children. We work in areas of child support and care, adolescent reproductive and sexual health, youth empowerment, education, sports, teenage pregnancy, and girls empowerment..

We have a social Enterprise as well where we produce food items and other products to sell to the general public for funds. We give training to people who are ready to learn a skill . Below are some pictures of the social Enterprise.

OUR VISION

The vision of SIO-GHANA is to see a society where the youth and the adolescent’s lives in a sexual immorality free environment. A society where every adolescent has the right and accurate information to his or her sexual health without any fear or resentment. We also envision a society where every child has equal access to quality education without any hindrance

OUR MISSION

  • To spread the word of God through our evangelism module
  • To provide an equal opportunity for children in rural settings especially the girl child to have an equal opportunity to attain a higher and quality education
  • To encourage parents /guardians and society to raise Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Issues in Ghana to the highest level
  • To intensify the teaching of sex-related issues in schools and other non-familiar settings.
  • To empower the youth economically for them to become productive asset to themselves and their society.

GOALS

Our ultimate goal is to empower children, youth and the less privileged in society to become greater assets in society.

OBJECTIVES

  • To educate and create the awareness of adolescent sexually and reproductive health issues among teenagers in areas such as teenage pregnancy, alcohol and drug abuse, unsafe abortion, child abuse, HIV and other STDs.
  • To provide educational and social support to children especially those living in rural communities i.e. provide educational materials i.e.: school uniforms, reading and exercise books and also paying of school fees for needy and deprived children
  • To empower young adolescents in entrepreneurial skills. This will help them acquire the necessary skills and knowledge in some business ventures such as handcrafted products (beaded accessories), detergent and cosmetic making (liquid soap, hair pomade, hair shampoo), agriculture business (mushroom farming, rabbit rearing) etc.
